Apartments proposed next to Gilbert Town Hall

A 14-acre dirt lot between Gilbert Town Hall and the new Banner Health Center has been targeted for a 256-unit apartment complex, but the developer faces an uphill battle to get the project approved.

Phoenix-based Alliance Residential recently submitted architectural plans for the Gilbert Civic Center apartments near the southeastern corner of Gilbert and Warner roads, and drawings went before Gilbert’s Design Review Board in a study session last week. A zoning change in support of the project is under review by town administrators.

The complex would include 11 apartment buildings with a mix of two- and three-story structures, a two-story fitness center, a clubhouse and a community swimming pool.
