No bull about Bullhead City

Jack Hakim made a mental list of the accomplishments and failures of the Bullhead City Council during his 13 years on what he called the city’s “board of directors.”

The plus side was considerably longer than the minus side.

“There are so many things that we did,” Hakim said as he traveled down memory lane after announcing earlier last week that he won’t seek a third term as mayor, a position he has held since 2007. He was a council member for six years before becoming mayor, the highest elected position in city government. His current term expires at the end of the year and his replacement will be decided in the August election.

At his Bullhead City home decorated with mementos of some of his achievements in the recording industry, Hakim also has a different kind of album collection, photo albums containing clippings of what he considers “major accomplishments” by the council.
