The Roosevelt Row Arts District has one apartment complex open and two housing developments in the works, and there could be more in the future. Jeff Hoopes, co-owner of 5th Street Paint Supply, said he has mixed emotions about that.

“It’s not black and white,” he said. “It’s awesome that people are coming down here, but it’s a bummer that it’s gentrifying.”
