Former council members, former city employee among applicants for council seat

Two former city council members and a former city employee are among a group of candidates who applied to fill a vacant Maricopa council seat.

The city received seven applications for the position, which was created when Leon Potter resigned from the governing body in March. The deadline to apply closed last Thursday.

InMaricopa.com received the applications through a public records request.

The following people applied: Carl Diedrich, Brent Murphree, Brad Hinton, Wade Beckstead, Rosalin Sanhadja, Ellen Buddington and Dan Frank.
