It already has a significant chunk of Colorado’s retail furniture business. Now, American Furniture Warehouse, a discount furniture business based in suburban Denver, is staking a claim in Arizona, and doing it in part with a 600,000-square-foot warehouse and showroom in Glendale.
When it opens in August, the site off Loop 101 and Bethany Home Road, just west of University of Phoenix Stadium, Jobing.com Arena and the Westgate shopping district, will employ about 300 and generate more than $2.5 million in annual sales tax revenues, according to store and city officials.
