Maricopa City Council could swear in a new member Thursday to fill its vacant seat.
The council is scheduled to interview applicants at a special meeting at 6 p.m. city hall. A vote and swearing-in ceremony could follow the discussion.
The mayor and council have developed a set of questions, which they will ask each applicant, said city clerk, Vanessa Bueras.
The vacant seat was created when Leon Potter resigned in March to run for mayor.
