Maricopa Holiday Inn project needs ADOT approval

Holiday InnThe Holiday Inn Express & Suites project to be constructed off State Route 347 in Maricopa will need the Arizona Department of Transportation’s approval to allow access to the property because it will be located off a state road.

Before the city can issue a certificate of occupancy, the developer must secure ADOT’s approval of its plans, said Robert Mathias, city development services manager. ADOT’s approval is one of several the developer needs for the city to issue the certificate.

The developer originally requested a permit from the state’s transportation agency in 2011, but ADOT withdrew the application in October because of inactivity.

“The developer will need to submit his revised plans (of the project) after re-submitting the permit applications,” ADOT spokesman Dustin Krugel said in an email Thursday.
