Maricopa staff proposes revisions to development services fees

Maricopa city council members heard a presentation Tuesday evening on proposed revisions to the city’s building permit and development services fees, which have not been updated for 10 years.

Robert Goodhue, the city’s development services director, estimates the proposed revisions would generate about $200,000 in additional revenue for the coming fiscal year.

The current permit fee schedules use 2004 valuation data, Goodhue told members of council during a work session meeting. The proposed revisions are based on the most recent data sheet developed by the International Code Council.
