Melvin will not sleep in Seattle

Maricopa City Council candidate and Salt River-Pima Maricopa Indian Community chief Patrick Melvin is no longer part of the finalist group for the Seattle Police Department chief’s position, Melvin told the Monitor on Monday.

Melvin was announced last week as one of four finalists for the position, along with Mesa Police Chief Frank Milstead, former Boston Police commissioner Kathleen O’Toole and Elk Grove (Calif.) Police chief Robert Lehrner. Those three remain in the hunt for that position.
