New Trails out at Pima and Dynamite

Scottsdale plans to file applications this summer to purchase 405 acres of state trust land to add to its McDowell Sonoran Preserve, including desert that could accommodate a major trailhead at Pima Road and Dynamite Boulevard.

The Arizona State Land Department could auction off the properties in 2015, which involves the following areas:

• 290 acres on the northeastern corner of Pima and Dynamite, which the city has designated as the site for a trailhead.

• 115 acres encompassing the Western edge and embankments of the Rawhide Wash. The land borders the preserve to the east and north of Dynamite.
