Scottsdale Quarter looks to start final phase of project

As the final stages of the proposed phased construction at Scottsdale Quarter makes its way to Scottsdale City Council Tuesday, May 13 proponents of the project say it’s exactly the kind of economic development the community needs and ought to desire.

Meanwhile one member of city council says a legal mechanism created to amend zoning stipulations on land within Scottsdale city borders identified as Planned Regional Centers is a new way to circumvent the tenets of the community’s General Plan.

In this case, the amendment was recommended for approval April 23 by the Scottsdale Planning Commission by a vote of 4 to 0, which will allow for building heights up to 90 feet and an increase in allowable floor-area ratio.
