After filing lawsuits against three opponents in the upcoming city council elections challenging their signatures, Gary Deardorff narrowly escaped remaining on the ballot himself after 638 of the 1,525 signatures he gathered to get on the ballot were disallowed.
The minimum number of signatures needed to qualify for the ballot in the Cholla District is 886 and Deardorff’s final tally was 887.
