Election 2014: Candidates turn focus to border at GOP forum

SAN TAN VALLEY –– Though relatively unified in their response to the issues of illegal immigration and border security, a few of the Republican gubernatorial candidates didn’t stop themselves from throwing a few punches Wednesday night.

At an event hosted by conservative national news media outlet Newsmax and Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu’s political action committee, four GOP gubernatorial contenders — Secretary of State Ken Bennett, Treasurer Doug Ducey, former California Rep. Frank Riggs and former GoDaddy General Counsel Christine Jones — took time away from their uniformly anti-amnesty, pro-border security answers to grill one another.
