Foreclosed homeowners could get damage awards in nearly $1B SunTrust mortgage

As many as 2,300 Arizona borrowers who lost their homes to foreclosure may line up for damage awards if their loans were serviced by Atlanta-based SunTrust Banks Inc. The potential relief is part of a $968 million settlement SunTrust reached with U.S. Justice Department, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and 49 state attorneys general including Arizona’s Tom Horne.
