Former Avondale Mayor Marie Lopez Rogers selected new Maricopa County Supervisor–Congratulations

Former Avondale Mayor Marie Lopez Rogers was selected Wednesday morning as the newest Maricopa County supervisor. replacing Mary Rose Wilcox, who is now running for Congress.

Rogers resigned from her post as mayor late last month to run for the District 5 seat on the Board of Supervisors in the fall election. Rogers will serve through the end of this year.

Whoever is elected to the seat in the fall would serve out the rest of Wilcox’s term, through 2016.
