Why Milwaukee is trying to emulate the recent successes of downtown Phoenix

Milwaukee elected officials and business leaders are hoping the city can emulate some of the success of downtown Phoenix, especially as the city considers ways to revitalize West Wisconsin Avenue and The Shops of Grand Avenue.

Mayor Tom Barrett and several city council members turned out for a Greater Milwaukee Committee meeting Monday to hear from the mayor of Phoenix and an Arizona State University official talk about a partnership between the city and the university that has resulted in hundreds of millions of dollars in economic investment.
