Homeowners governed by the Ahwatukee Board of Management soon might find a Pulte Homes representative knocking on their doors.
Pulte is hoping to convince property owners to change deed restrictions that prevent Ahwatukee Lakes Golf Club from being used for anything but golf-related activities and might take its message door to door to augment a series of small meetings with Ahwatukee residents that it has been staging.
Pulte wants to build nearly 300 single-family homes on The Lakes at Ahwatukee property, where golfing was shut down in May 2013. At the group meetings, Pulte says that 38 percent of the proposed development would be open space with 2.5 homes per acre and that the plan is to keep traffic below Phoenix’s capacity thresholds.
