The Yellow Sheet Report said Friday Corporation Commission candidate Vernon Parker has called out ACC Chairman Bob Stump for tweeting endorsement the opposing GOP ACC slate, Tom Forese and Doug Little.
Parker says it’s unusual for a sitting commissioner to get involved in a primary contest. Stump replied he’s “bewildered” by Parker’s post.
“I have not singled you out for criticism, and I look forward to campaigning vigorously for you and my friend Lucy, should you win the primary. Endorsing Doug and Tom is not equivalent to campaigning ‘against’ you or ‘opposing’ you,” Stump wrote.
Stump acknowledged he’s been critical of candidates who attended the pro-rooftop solar rally this month because, he said, he finds it unusual for any ACC candidate to attend a protest hosted by a “special interest group” that has business before the regulatory agency, the Yellow Sheet reported
Parker said he attended the anti-solar tax rally because he thinks the tax is unfair – especially how it came about. He argued that it wasn’t approved by the Legislature and will instead be levied by “unelected officials” from the Dept. of Revenue.
