At its June 18 meeting, the Queen Creek Town Council selected Jeff Brown to serve a six-month term as Vice Mayor. Responsibilities of the Vice Mayor include conducting meetings of the Town Council when the Mayorcannot be present and representing the views of the Mayor and the Town at official and ceremonial functions and in meetings with other agencies when the Mayor is unable to attend. The Mayor nominates the Vice Mayor from among the Town Council members, and the Mayor and Town Council vote to confirm the appointment.
Vice Mayor Brown was elected to the Town Council in June of 2008 and represents the Council on the East Valley Partnership Board of Directors, Town Budget Committee, and serves as an alternate member of the Parks & Recreation Advisory Committee.
Before serving on the Town Council, Brown served on the Planning & Zoning Commission from 2006 to 2008, as chair of the Transportation Advisory Committee, on the Design Guideline Steering Committee, as well as the Finance Review Task Force. Brown is a 2003 graduate of the Queen Creek Citizen Leadership Institute and in 2007 completed the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training course. He serves as squad leader for the Southeast Queen Creek CERT sector.
Vice Mayor Brown moved to Queen Creek in 2002 and is self-employed, focusing on professional consulting services and real estate investments as the owner of JBQC Investments LLC and 50 percent owner of Kneadmor Cowbell LLC.
