The Avondale City Council has a new face, as members on June 24 chose David Iwanski to fill a seat left vacant when Kenn Weise was appointed mayor earlier this month.
The council voted 4-2 to appoint Iwanski, 60, after interviewing nine candidates interested in the at-large council position. Council members Stephanie Karlin and Bryan Kilgore were the dissenting votes.
