The Rex Ranch in Amado has new owners with new plans for the historic dude ranch.
Beth and Steve Bjerke paid $190,000 in cash for the Bank of America-owned property, according to Santa Cruz County Recorder records. The sale went through May 30.
The Bjerkes purchased the 50-acre ranch after a non-profit group, Save the Rex Ranch, failed to raise the funds to buy the property with the intention of turning it into international cultural arts center.
