Weary of anonymous online attacks and rumors about the past, Republican clerk of the court challenger Amanda Stanford and her husband, Cody, decided to meet the whispers head-on.
In an exclusive interview with the Maricopa Monitor, the Stanfords talked about what had been a very trying few years of their marriage — a time when Cody was in jail and when the pair lost their cars to repossession and were forced to short-sell their home.
Amanda and Cody even separated for a time after he fell back off the wagon.
“Anytime I ever got into any trouble, I was under the influence,” Cody said.
