Petitions filed to let Glendale voters decide on tax hike

A political group hoping to overturn a permanent Glendale sales tax increase submitted initiative petitions Thursday to put the issue on the November ballot.

Protect Glendale Taxpayers said it turned in more than 20,000 signatures to the Glendale City Clerk’s Office.

The petitions must be checked to verify the group has at least 10,434 valid signatures from registered Glendale voters to qualify for the Nov. 4 general-election ballot.
