The 11th major expansion of Scottsdale Fashion Square, already Arizona’s largest mall, is under construction near Scottsdale and Camelback roads.

Bulldozers and other heavy equipment occupy a former parking lot north of Barneys New York and along Scottsdale Road. And by August, passers-by should see walls being erected on the site.

Fashion Square is owned by Santa Monica, Calif.-based Macerich, one of the nation’s largest shopping center and real estate investment trusts. The mall has nearly 2 million square feet of space and more than 250 shops.
