Yuma businesswoman fighting Walmart zoning

One businesswoman who is opposed to the development of a Walmart Neighborhood Market near her businesses has done more than speak out during public meetings as part of the permitting process for the project.

Through two referendum petition drives launched by her political action committee, No Wal Mart for 8th Street, Teresa Poland is actively seeking to get voter input on whether the grocery store should be permitted on a vacant and blighted site at 2545 W. 8th St.
