Neighbors file objections to new location for Greasewood Flat

Screen Shot 2014-08-13 at 9.05.37 AMAlmost 20 people have contacted Scottsdale officials complaining about the plans for new housing and a new location for the restaurant east of 128th Street and south of Dynamite. Their concerns: density, noise and traffic, reports the The Arizona Republic‘s Michael Clancy.

Greasewood Flat is on land long owned by the late George “Doc” Cavalliere. After his death in 2009, his heirs were left with an estate-tax bill and debts racked up by his estate. The bills were paid by a sale of the family land to Taylor Morrison Homes, which plans a residential development.

Taylor Morrison also is working with landowners on 128th Street south of Rio Verde Drive to develop acreage there, including other land under Cavalliere ownership.

But other residents of the area are objecting, even though the first hearing on the project is almost a month away and final submissions have yet to be made.
