Compadre Stadium was the spring training home to the Milwaukee Brewers from 1986 until 1997, but the final chapter in this embattled ballpark is just the beginning of a new development that will become Chandler’s newest neighborhood.
Demolition on the stadium began last week, but the demise of the old ballpark was decades in the making.
The beginning of the Brewers’ new home was marred by a near tragedy when a boiler explosion rocked the clubhouse, injuring 10 people, but the greats who played there over next 12 years would author a much more positive history.
