With the prospect of significant wastewater fee increases, the race for two seats on the Arizona Corporation Commission has taken on more meaning in the Sun Cities this election cycle, and Friday’s turnout for a debate among candidates showed just how important residents view the contest.
Hundreds of people attended the debate hosted by the Recreation Centers of Sun City inside the Sundial Recreation Center.
However, half of the field of candidates showed up — Democrats Sandra Kennedy and Jim Holway. Republican Tom Forese declined to attend, and Doug Little suffered a fall prior to the session and was unable to make it.
