Casino a crapshoot, opponents say; file for referendum

Opponents of a West Valley tribal casino filed referendum petitions Friday seeking to overturn Glendale’s agreement with the Tohono O’odham Nation and stop the gaming development.

Two groups called No More Bad Deals for Glendale and Respect the Promise turned in what organizers said was about 15,000 signatures on each of the two measures intended to force a vote on two decisions the City Council approved last month.
