[EDITORIAL] I-11 is opportunity knocking, not a ‘boondoggle’

The characterization of the proposed new Interstate 11 as “boondoggle” by a public interest group is sadly out of touch with reality.

Significant federal investment at the Mariposa Port of Entry in Nogales and the Hoover Dam bypass makes this route an opportunity too good to pass up

Failing to take advantage of that infrastructure would be the real waste.

This isn’t about truck-stop mamas and CB radio handles. This is about today’s reality, not yesterday’s stereotypes.

The Interstate 11 corridor is a modern state’s efforts to leverage its geographic advantages. It is Arizona positioning itself for a prosperous future.
