Hidden Valley area skydive center gets supervisors’ approval

Anthony Smith stood behind the constituents in his district, but he was alone.

In a 4-1 vote on Wednesday, the Pinal County Board of Supervisors approved a special use permit for a skydiving operation in the Hidden Valley area of western Pinal, despite vehement opposition from residents in that area.

It was Smith, of Maricopa, the board chairman, who cast the lone dissenting vote.
