‘Huge implications for real estate’ in Phoenix’s future

Whether Phoenix’s future path is as a global commercial hub or a second-tier domestic market depends on how the state and region deal with current challenges ranging from immigration and venture capital to education and land use.

It’s a song that has been sung before. But current challenges emerged as the main chorus of a forum Thursday at the Phoenician Resort hosted by the Urban Land Institute real estate group and former Phoenix mayor, Paul Johnson.

The ULI event centered on what Phoenix will and should look like in 2050.

But the focus was more on current problems faced by the region and Arizona.
