New City Church buys downtown Phoenix property

A new location for New City Church will provide more space and a central location near Phoenix’s art district, church leaders said.

The building, at 1300 N. Central Ave., was formerly owned by Drapac Group, an Australian property-investment company with an office in Los Angeles. The building is nearly 18,000 square feet and was built in 1961.

The church bought the property for $2.3 million, according to a news release from Colliers International, the real-estate company that represented New City Church.
