Peoria councilman to drop out of race if he loses lawsuit

A Peoria City Council incumbent who is suing the city over primary election results said he will drop his re-election bid if the case does not go in his favor.

Ron Aames is running for re-election against challenger Michael Finn in the city’s Palo Verde District. The two finished in a tight race in the primary election last month and the city clerk ruled the two would face each other in a run-off election in November.
