Scottsdale residents will have a chance to weigh in on a rezoning proposal that could raise the value of 4,000 acres of state trust land in north Scottsdale, a move that likely will open it to development.
The city will hold public hearings to gather feedback as it looks to rezone the land, now zoned mostly for residential, between Scottsdale Road and 104th Street, and Stagecoach Pass and Happy Valley roads.
If successful, the rezoning would add about 115 acres of commercial, resorts and tourism zoning along north Scottsdale Road. The remaining land, about 3,900 acres, would stay mostly residential but change densities.
