Tucson ranked 24th in the Top 50 U.S. Destinations 2014

tucsonResonance Consultancy, which specializes in destination development, chose the supply-side lens to reflect changing influences in tourism today.

“Tucson has a lot going for itself with its active outdoorsy and independent positioning,” says Richard Cutting-Miller, executive VP for Resonance. “It’s well differentiated from Phoenix, which is Number 16 in our report.”

For the Top 50 U.S. Destinations 2014, cities were considered from both a business and leisure perspective, and a range of criteria informed the rankings, including number of direct flights, hotels and Fortune 500 headquarters, and the increasingly influential social media reviews.

Los Angeles took the top spot. Tucson’s peers included Austin (23rd), Cincinnati (22nd) and San Antonio (21st).
