$5M+ Deals – Meridian West office project sells to NextGen Apartments

Below is a list of the deals closed Tuesday 10/07/14 in Maricopa County over $5 million according to the Maricopa County Recorder. The Rose Law Group Reporter has not independently verified these transactions.

$6.5M sale of the 77,226 SF Eastpoint Business Center located east of the NEC of Elliot Road and Arizona Avenue (3191 N. Washington St) in Chandler by Aviv realty ADA Compliant LP, an entity formed by Dalfen Foxfire Enterprises Inc. out of Quebec Canada. The Industrial flex space building is on an 11.4 acre lot and was built in 1997.

$6.15M sale of approximately 17 acres at the NWC corner of Cooper Road and the 202 San Tan Freeway in Chandler by an entity formed by Meridian West Development in Phoenix. Meridian had an office project planned for this site, but the new buyer, NextGen Apartments, intends to build 332 one, two and three bedroom high end apartment units on the site, according to Aaron Sher, Vice President of Development for NextGen. NextGen prides itself on being the most tech savvy multi-family developer in the valley, with conveniences like USB charging ports standard and cutting edge tech like Nest thermostats.

$5.7M+ sale of the 148,439 SF former Garden Ridge retail center at the NWC of Greenfield Road and Baseline Road (1944 S. Greenfield Road) in Mesa by Texas based 29 Northwest LLC who purchased the then almost entirely empty center in 2012 for $4.52M. 29 Northwest brought in Garden Ridge, a Houston based home decor retail chain which was looking to enter western markets, but has since closed.
