Coolidge sells more land to Bright International for expansion

Bright International, one of Coolidge’s largest industrial companies, continues to expand, and has purchased city land to help fulfill that growth.

The Coolidge City Council on Sept. 22 approved the sale of 10 acres of land south of the current Bright International property at the Industrial Park for their use of additional warehousing, aerosol product manufacturing, packing, parking and offices.

The city went out for bid on the land after receiving interest from Bright. Bright was then the only bidder for the land, coming in with a price of $5,600 per acre. The city rejected this bid because they deemed the price too low, and began negotiating with Bright, eventually agreeing to $12,000 per acre, a price similar to previous land deals between the company and the city, bringing the total income for the city to $120,000.
