Legislative District 8 covers a large part of Pinal County, including much of Casa Grande and Eloy plus Coolidge, Florence and much of San Tan Valley. Three incumbent legislators in the district face a challenge from two other candidates.

Democratic Sen. Barbara McGuire of Kearny is opposed by Republican Irene Littleton of Casa Grande, who won a three-way race in the primary with a solid campaign.

McGuire is a veteran legislator who has worked hard for her constituents. She is a strong supporter of education, law enforcement and other important parts of state and local government. She deserves to be re-elected.
