After months of discussions and numerous public forums with the community, Peoria City Council approved two rezoning amendments for a two-parcel expansion of Park West.
The amendments both passed unanimously 6-0, with Tony Rivero having to leave the meeting early.
Park West, the upscale shopping center at Northern and 99th avenues, was amended to now allow residential buildings and a 140,000-square-foot building, which would be home to a higher education facility.
