Nearly 550 Tempe residents had a say in what they want their neighborhoods to look like as city officials drafted plans to identify “character areas” in south Tempe.
If Tempe officials had their way, thousands more would offer ideas on how they envision their community, neighborhood assets and on what is missing.
“It’s that one additional effort to continue to listen to what is important to the neighborhoods,” Nancy Ryan, a Tempe Community Development official, said of unveiling draft plans at October community meetings and seeking residents’ feedback.
