Turf wars: Off-track is on track at Peoria golf course

After months of research and work, Peoria Pines Gold Course has partnered with Turf Paradise to bring off-track betting to the Peoria Pines Restaurant.

Off-track betting began with a grand opening Oct. 10.

“We were just looking for ideas to reinvent the business,” Scott Richmond, general manager of Peoria Pines Golf and Restaurant, said. “Golf is struggling and people don’t have as much disposable income and we just wanted to stand out better than our competitors.”
