1 Glendale race hangs in the balance

Glendale’s City Council will have several new faces as two races were decided in Tuesday’s election. One was still too close to call.

Candidates Lauren Tolmachoff and Bart Turner won their races, while Jamie Aldama and Norma Alvarez were nearly tied for the Ocotillo District seat.

With 100 percent of precincts reporting as of 10 p.m., Aldama led Alvarez by just 10 votes in the race where 1,910 votes were cast. Aldama said he is expecting the trend to continue and lead him to a win as other ballots are counted, but Alvarez said otherwise.
