Corte Bella area residents give ACC earful on EPCOR consolidation plan

SUN CITY WEST, Ariz. – When Diane Smith purchased her house in Corte Bella 10 years ago, she paid exactly the same for wastewater service as her neighbors less than a half mile away in Sun City West. Today, Smith said it costs her almost four times as much to have her wastewater treated every month. In Sun City West, they’re paying about the same for that service.

“People living across Deer Valley Drive are paying $30.99 a month for unlimited, no-volume-charges, wastewater being treated at the same plant as we are,” Smith said. “Our bills are going up to $121 in January (2015) with a per-volume fee.”

Smith is not alone.
