The day after: A look at municipal elections

Voters across the Valley decided a number of local races Tuesday, electing new council members in Scottsdale, Glendale and Peoria and appearing to support a $580 million bond package in Mesa, early results indicate.

Scottsdale

A six-way race for three Scottsdale City Council seats showed Linda Milhaven, David Smith and Dennis Robbins in the lead as early results poured in Tuesday night.

The election pitted three candidates who touted the city’s downtown and economic development against candidates who questioned the safety of the downtown bar district and the development of apartments and high-rise buildings.
