Steven Paulson held a 27-vote lead for Eloy mayor shortly after 11 p.m. Tuesday.
The unofficial results showed Paulson with 52 percent of the votes cast, 397 ballots, compared to 370 votes cast for Joel Belloc. Belloc’s total represented 48 percent of the ballots cast.
Five of eight precincts had reported by press time.
Richard Voss held a 36-vote lead over Andrew Rodriguez for a spot on the Eloy City Council.
Voss tallied 372 votes to 336 cast for Rodriguez in unofficial results reported at 11 p.m.

District 8: McGuire clings to Senate lead

The race for the Arizona Senate in Legislative District 8 remained up in the air as of late Tuesday, according to preliminary results.
With 47 of 69 precincts reporting, incumbent Democratic Sen. Barbara McGuire had a 423-vote lead over Republican challenger Irene Littleton, 51 percent to 49 percent.
Both women were confident they would ultimately prevail.
District 8: House incumbents reelected
Incumbent Republicans T.J. Shope and Frank Pratt appear to have been re-elected to the Arizona House of Representatives in District 8, according to unofficial vote tallies late Tuesday.
With 47 of 69 precincts reporting, Shope had 10,469 votes, or 36.4 percent, while Pratt was just behind with 10,277 votes, or 35.7 percent.
District 11: Smith, Finchem, Leach take seats

In a not-so-surprising Election Night tally, Republicans will continue their reign in LD11.
Arizona Rep. Steve Smith, R-Maricopa, will pack up and move across the Capitol once again, returning to his former spot as state senator for Legislative District 11.

In a repeat from 2012, Democratic challenger Jo Holt lost the Senate seat, which covers Maricopa, part of Casa Grande, Arizona City and all the way down into Marana and Oro Valley.
