Glendale councilwoman doesn’t go quietly

After losing the Ocotillo seat on the Glendale City Council to Jaime Aldama by 18 votes, Councilmember Norma Alvarez may be leaving officially, but she is not leaving quietly.

“I will stay involved and nobody will quiet me down,” Alvarez said by phone after the final official numbers were released. “What is wrong is still going to be wrong and will affect my grandkids. I will continue to fight for the city and try and expose the truth.”

She has prided herself as an advocate for the citizens of Glendale, especially in the Ocotillo district, and while she has alienated herself to a degree, she feels she has been disrespected by fellow councilmembers.
