As Coolidge inches closer and closer to annexing a significant amount of land to the south of the current city limits, a key asset contained within that annexation was presented to county leaders on Friday.
During the Pinal Partnership meeting held on the morning of Nov. 14, Tim Kanavel of the Pinal County Economic Development Department presented the initial plans for Inland Port Arizona, a proposal by Pinal Land Holdings that would dedicate about 1,000 acres in between Coolidge and Picacho to the transport and warehousing of rail services.
“This will be the largest inland port on Arizona,” Kanavel said. “There’s one down near Tucson but it isn’t half the size what this will be.”
