Just when the chaos surrounding who will be on the Coolidge City Council come December seemed to be dying down, a new wave of faces eager to become leaders have joined the scene.
Seven people applied to fill the two-year vacancy left in the wake of Judy Rotz-Lopez’s resignation in October. Of the seven, three hopefuls — Gilbert Lopez, Norma Jean Polee-Muhammad and Tami Hodge — ran for either mayor or city council this election cycle. This means there are four newcomers: Greg Thornberg, Darren Solis, Ernesto Leon and Mariano Baca.
