Looks like Republican-dominated red-state Arizona is more dependent on federal spending than California, New York and other more liberal states.
The federal outlays in the state are equal to 24.3 percent of the Arizona’s gross domestic product, according to a new analysis by the Pew Charitable Trusts.
That is more than much bluer California (15.7 percent), Illinois (14.7 percent), New York (15.0 percent), Washington state (18.1 percent) and Massachusetts (17.1 percent), according to Pew.
